Let’s meet the performers of D20 Burlesque’s upcoming show by finding out their favorite dystopian or post apocalyptic books and movies! Today we give you a a few little treat to whet you appetite before the show tonight.
He’s hosted us before and rocked our geeky little worlds and he will be back again tonight, Bastard Keith
Fav film: My favorite dystopian film is a pretty easy one: Brazil. It’s easy to call it Orwellian, but the film is indebted to so many sources at once. Either way, it’s one of Terry Gilliam’s most unfettered, personal creations. It’s the story of a dreamer trapped in a bureaucratic nightmare world where nothing works properly, the air is filthy, and torture is a matter of paperwork. It’s rapidly coming true. Brazil also has the single greatest sucker punch twist of all time, a happy ending unlike any other. I was left weak and despairing and thrilled and moved and….well, I was feeling everything it’s possible to feel at a movie.
It’s closely followed by A Boy and His Dog, a post-apocalyptic comedy that features the unforgettable spectacle of Don Johnson hooked up to a sperm-draining device. Also, the dog is psychic. Say no more.
